DESCRIPTION
A true archive grail from Jun Takahashi’s pivotal AW04 collection, “But Beautiful” — a season defined by emotional fragility, repair, and rebellion. This pair of Model 68 Red Yarn Denim was constructed entirely from second-hand denim, reworked by hand with traditional Sashiko stitching, and intentionally distressed.
Every pair from this release was unique — no two are the same.
Key details include:
- Lightning bolt embroidery on the left knee – a direct reference to Patti Smith’s tattoo, used by Takahashi as a symbol of humility and defiance
- Hand-sewn red yarn patch across the blown-out knee – inspired by red ribbons tied by rock musicians pre-show
- Deliberately removed back pocket – a signature asymmetric detail seen throughout the season
- Sashiko repair work and natural aging that reflects Undercover’s blend of punk and wabi-sabi
NOTES
- This is an original AW04 release, not a later reissue.
- Red yarn version is far rarer than subsequent multi-color reworks from AW10 and beyond.
- One of the most historically significant UC pants ever made.

- Worldwide shipping available
- Due to the rarity and archive nature of the item, all sales are final
